Blank to Beautiful is a free 5-day painting challenge

designed to help you go from a blank page to a beautiful seascape with simple, intuitive steps.

You don’t need a big studio or a perfect workspace to create beautiful art. A small table, a quiet corner, or even a cleared kitchen counter is enough. Keep your setup simple: protect your surface, place your water jars and paper within easy reach, and give yourself just enough space to move your brush comfortably. What matters most is consistency, not square footage.

Over the next five days, you’ll

  • receive daily tutorials designed to build foundational skills like tonal value, depth, layering, and water control.

  • Watch each lesson fully before you begin, then paint along with curiosity — not perfection.

  • Expect a few hiccups; they are part of the learning. Reflect on what you notice, adjust, and keep going.

By the end of this challenge, you won’t just have paintings — you’ll have clarity, confidence, and a stronger foundation in watercolor.

B2B - Supplies List

Here’s everything you need to follow along in the Blank to Beautiful - 5 Day Watercolor challenge. The best part? It’s simple, beginner-friendly, and doesn’t require a huge supply list.

For supplies, all you need is watercolor paper (preferably 100% cotton if possible), one round brush (size 8–10 works beautifully), a simple palette with your primaries, neutral tint and some earthy colors, two jars of water, and paper towels.

That’s it. Simple tools, intentional practice.

Welcome to Day 1 of the Blank to Beautiful Watercolor Challenge! Today, we build strong watercolor foundations with wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, basic washes, and dry brushing.

Welcome to Day 2 of the Blank to Beautiful Watercolor Challenge! Today, we create soft, fluffy clouds using two wet-on-wet techniques. Learn how to shape clouds naturally, control edges, and build subtle shadows for a three-dimensional effect. We focus on softness, light direction, and layering to make your clouds feel airy and alive.
